Biography
Born
in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1922
Studied
at the National Academy of Fine Arts Manuel Belgrano and the Prilidiano
Pueyrredón School. Studied under, among others, and was
a disciple of, Enrique de Larrañaga and Lino Eneas Spilimbergo.
Academically, Balcells worked as Professor of Drawing Art at the
Escuela Técnica de San Isidro and Professor of Editorial
and Advertising Graphic Design at the Panamerican School of Arte.
Also worked as Director of Art at the Lino Palacio Agency, as
well as Estudio 22 and Sublimen, all firms involved in advertising.

Between
1946 and 1995 participated in countless collective exhibitions.
During the years 1978 to 1995 his Exhibitions have been mostly
individual.
