Curriculum
del artista
Gustavo
Fares es un artista plástico nacido en Argentina y residente
de Estados Unidos desde 1985.
Fares se recibió de Profesor de Pintura y Dibujo en la Escuela
Nacional de Bellas Artes “Prilidiano Pueyrredon" en Buenos Aires,
Argentina. Hizo cursos de pos- grado en la Escuela Superior de Bellas
Artes “Ernesto de la Carcova" también en Buenos Aires.
Viajo a Estados Unidos en 1985, y completo un Master in Painting and
Lithography en la West Virginia University, un Certificado Doctoral
en Cultural Studies en la University of Pittsburgh. Allí recibió
becas de la Tinker Foundation y una Andrew W. Mellon Pre-Doctoral
Fellowship. Ha mostrado su obra en galerías de Estados Unidos,
Europa, Argentina y México.
En sus trabajos, Fares usa materiales tradicionales, como óleo
y acrílico en tela o papel así como imagines digitales.
Sus intereses visuales incluyen la exploración de imágenes
ligadas al pensamiento seminal latinoamericano, consideraciones sobre
los limites y posibilidades e la pintura, y exploraciones visuales
de espacios topológicos relacionados con la filosofía
del lenguaje.
