Cataphoresis Series, color over form. For many years I painted figurative, where color encloses and nourishes figure. Now I am doing exactly the opposite, color is the protagonist as a force. I give great importante to the treatment of the different elements and pigments, searching no conventional tones to reach stone and metal, noble elements, of great durability and presence in humanity’s history. I use them exaggerating or calming textures. I think that surfaces generate colors, then the choice of the support is very important for the force, because texture  generates color, depending on light. The most importants ítems in this series are  the deepness and the treatment of colors. I compose treating color as the principal objective, attacking the same objective in two opposing manners so as the result must be equilibrated. Therefore I use two composition  styles almost opposing; one cold, calculating and mental; and the other more visceral,  intuitive,more crude. Using the same materials I try to achieve the same intensity. In this way forms are related to colors and emphasize them. I mix oily bases with water bases, pigments with solvents and vegetal pigments, with different kinds of supports and chemicals. They all complement. In this way I intent to transmit force, passion and energy. I make my little universes mixing stone, metals, water and oil.
